Phnom Penh — Cambodia recorded a total trade volume of more than USD 65.24 billion in 2025, representing a 17.66 percent increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the country’s resilience in maintaining key export markets despite ongoing global economic uncertainty, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Pen Sovicheat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, stated that Cambodia’s exports reached USD 31.28 billion, a 16.95 percent increase, while imports totaled USD 33.96 billion, representing an 18.32 percent year-over-year increase.
He made the remarks while speaking at the 2025 Trade Performance Review and the Launch of the 2026 Trade Action Plan of the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday. Pen Sovicheat noted that the strong performance demonstrates Cambodia’s continued access to major global markets, the strengthening of its role within global value chains, and sustained confidence from international buyers.
Cambodia’s key export destinations include ASEAN countries, Australia, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and India, the spokesperson said.
The country’s main export products in 2025 comprised garments, textiles, footwear, travel goods and bags, automobile tires, cashew nuts, rice, cassava, and electronic components and automotive parts.
Strong Trade Growth with Major Partners

Trade between Cambodia and the European Union nearly reached USD 6 billion in 2025, marking a 10.20 percent increase compared to 2024, according to a report from the Ministry of Commerce.
The report showed that total Cambodia–EU trade stood at USD 5.8 billion, up from USD 5.3 billion a year earlier. Cambodia’s exports to the EU remained robust at approximately USD 5 billion, rising 13.55 percent, while imports from the EU declined by 5.88 percent to more than USD 863 million.
China remained Cambodia’s largest trading partner in 2025, with bilateral trade totaling USD 19.73 billion, according to a report from the Ministry of Commerce. Cambodia’s top export products included garments, footwear, travel goods and bags, rice, automobile tires, cashew nuts, electronic equipment and components, cassava, bicycles, and electrical wires and cable assemblies.
Trade with the United States also posted strong growth, surpassing USD 13 billion in 2025, representing a 29.24 percent increase from 2024. Total bilateral trade reached USD 13.14 billion, up from USD 10.17 billion the previous year. Cambodia’s exports to the US rose to approximately USD 12.73 billion, a 28.48 percent increase, despite the introduction of new retaliatory tariff measures by Washington. Imports from the US surged 57.83 percent to more than USD 417 million.

Meanwhile, bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam reached USD 11.33 billion in 2025, representing an 11.7 percent year-on-year increase, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu. Cambodia’s exports to Vietnam totaled USD 5.66 billion, up 18.4 percent, while imports from Vietnam reached USD 5.67 billion, an increase of 5.7 percent, highlighting balanced and steadily expanding trade relations between the two neighboring countries.
Officials said the strong trade performance in 2025 provides a solid foundation for Cambodia’s 2026 Trade Action Plan, which aims to further diversify export markets, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen the country’s integration into the global economy.
