Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA), pledged to continue to mobilise Japanese companies to invest more in Cambodia to help boost economic growth and create jobs for the people.
In a meeting with Say Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, on November 18, 2024, the President of the JCA said that this is the fourth time that the Japan-Cambodia Association has made an official visit to Cambodia, and currently, it is observed that Cambodia has developed more rapidly in terms of investment from various countries, including Japan.
He said that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss further investment opportunities for Japanese companies in Cambodia, including in the construction sector.
In response, the Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the JCA delegation to Cambodia, saying that this visit was different from the previous one and a great opportunity for the Japan-Cambodia Association, as the Ministry of Land Management plans to organise its annual conference next week, which will be chaired by Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
In this meeting, Samal mentioned new investment opportunities for Japan in several sectors, such as in Sihanoukville province, where there will be an expansion of the port, with the ambition to turn this port into the second largest port after Singapore.
