Kampong Thom, February 22—The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) has held its first-ever meeting with Russia-based Siberian Cedar Eco-Factory, LLC to discuss potential cooperation and investment in Cambodia’s cashew industry.
The meeting took place on February 22, 2026, at CAC’s head office in Kampong Thom province, marking an important step toward expanding international partnerships in the sector.
Siberian Cedar Eco-Factory, LLC, which operates offices and factories across Central Asia and Mongolia, expressed interest in purchasing W180 cashew kernels from Cambodia, a grade widely recognized for its exceptional quality and nutritional value. Company representatives described the proposed purchase as an initial step in a broader strategy to diversify product offerings and meet rising global demand for premium nuts.
In addition to sourcing kernels, the Russian firm signaled plans to invest in existing processing plants in Cambodia. The proposed investment would focus on modernizing equipment, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening quality control systems. The company said such upgrades would enable it to source and process premium-grade nuts more effectively while supporting sustainability and local economic growth.
Chief Executive Officer Alexey Alpert sought CAC’s support in facilitating introductions to selected processor members to explore potential partnerships. The company also intends to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study to assess collaborative opportunities and long-term investment prospects.
If the initial phases prove successful, Siberian Cedar Eco-Factory envisions establishing a state-of-the-art processing facility within the Cashew Industrial Park in Kampong Thom. The strategic location is expected to provide access to key resources while aligning with the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and community development.
CAC President Silot Uon emphasized that the CAC serves as a bridge between farmers, buyers and processors. He noted that CAC has consistently organized business matching events to ensure smooth transactions and mutual benefit among stakeholders.
Meanwhile, CAC Vice President Suy Kokthean stated that the company has several options regarding the establishment of a processing facility, adding that waiting for full development of the Cashew Industrial Park could also be a strategic choice.
The meeting reflects growing international interest in Cambodia’s cashew sector and underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen value addition and attract foreign investment into the industry.
