The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC), in cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), will organize a business-to-business (B2B) matching event between Cambodian cashew processors and Japanese buyers in March, aiming to expand Cambodia’s cashew kernel exports to Japan.
Under the initiative, around 40 Cambodian cashew processing companies will meet with approximately 20 Japanese companies that have expressed strong interest in sourcing cashew kernels from Cambodia. The mission follows discussions held in November 2025, after which the schedule for the Japanese company visit was officially confirmed.
According to the plan, the Japanese delegation is expected to visit CAC in Kampong Thom province on the afternoon of March 9, including a field trip to local cashew operations. CAC will assist in arranging the visit and coordinating with relevant local companies. The main B2B business-matching session involving CAC members will take place on the afternoon of March 10 in Phnom Penh.
In addition to strengthening trade ties with Japan, CAC is also working to diversify Cambodia’s raw cashew nut (RCN) export markets. In February, the association will facilitate another B2B business-matching event between Cambodian traders and 10 Chinese companies seeking to purchase raw cashew nuts and cashew shells. This event will be held in cooperation with the Chinese-Cambodian Industrial Economic Promotion Association.
Furthermore, CAC, together with CSNC Agriculture and AMK Micro-finance, will conduct a separate B2B matching program involving farmers, traders, and agricultural cooperatives. Scheduled for early February, the initiative aims to pave the way for new RCN business deals and strengthen linkages across the cashew value chain.
These coordinated efforts reflect CAC’s ongoing commitment to promoting Cambodia’s cashew industry, expanding market access, and enhancing trade opportunities for farmers, traders, and processors alike.
