KAMPONG THOM, Sept. 10, 2026 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) has brought together cashew producers, agricultural cooperatives, processors, traders and financial institutions in a business-to-business (B2B) dialogue aimed at strengthening market linkages and expanding opportunities for Cambodian raw cashew nuts (RCN).

The event, attended by about 40 participants, included representatives of RCN purchasing companies, large-scale farmers, five agricultural cooperatives and three financial institutions.

Participating companies included Nut & Nest Enterprises, Mirarth Agri Tech, Olam Outspan Cambodia, Pinex Agro, Special Trust Cambodia, Mertol Sunflower Import & Export, Royal Delight View from India and a Chinese company operating a processing plant in the Kampong Som SEZ.

Six companies expressed potential demand for a combined 144,000 metric tonnes of RCN. Royal Delight View indicated demand for up to 50,000 tonnes, while Olam Outspan and the Chinese processor each indicated 30,000 tonnes. Pinex Agro, Nut & Nest, and Mirarth indicated requirements of 8,000, 5,000, and 3,000 tonnes, respectively, while Khmer Agro Cashew needs 15,000.

Meanwhile, Mertol Sunflower Import & Export and Special Trust Cambodia expressed interest in purchasing cashew kernels.

The dialogue focused on connecting farmers and agricultural cooperatives directly with buyers, promoting standardized RCN quality requirements, discussing payment and contract-farming arrangements, and assessing cooperatives’ capacity to fulfill large-volume orders. Farmers and cooperatives meeting premium quality standards could receive a 3% price incentive above standard market prices.

Quality control at the farm-gate level emerged as a key issue. Producers called for greater buyer involvement in quality management, while farmers also sought more stable pricing and clearer payment arrangements, including Ex Works (EXW) and Free on Board (FOB) terms.

Financial institutions, including Canadia Bank, Bank of China and AMK Microfinance, also discussed loans and money-transfer services to improve financial access for producers and businesses.

Silot said its next B2B dialogue is planned for November, with discussions expected to focus on M23 cashew quality and smaller nut classifications for W320 kernel production.

CAC said it is also seeking to maintain a steady RCN supply flow of at least 30% to help stabilize farmer prices and promote a balanced, mutually beneficial relationship between producers and processors.
