Phnom Penh, November 11, 2025 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) and Khmer Enterprise (KE) are exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration in the cashew nut sub-sector, following a meeting held on November 10.
The development initiatives are supported by KE’s programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and service providers. Khmer Enterprise currently supports ventures across several industries, including information and communication technology (ICT), logistics, tourism, and hospitality. In the agricultural sector, KE’s work emphasizes food safety, certification, and financial assistance.
As part of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s broader efforts to improve competitiveness in agriculture, KE is implementing a training program designed to help SMEs gain the technical knowledge and skills required to obtain national and international food safety certifications. These include Cambodian Standards (CS), Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Hygiene Practices (GMP-GHP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and ISO standards.
Khmer Enterprise, a government-backed institution established to foster entrepreneurship and innovation, plays a leading role in supporting local businesses and promoting value-added production across key sectors of the economy.
By enabling SMEs to achieve food safety certification, the program aims to improve access to domestic and international markets, enhance the quality and safety of Cambodian cashew products, and strengthen the country’s position in the global agri-food industry.
While CAC and KE have previously collaborated on limited projects, both organizations expressed their intention to expand the partnership. KE has requested CAC’s work plan to identify potential areas of integration and jointly develop initiatives that can deliver greater impact to the cashew sector and the wider agricultural community.
