Phnom Penh, November 7 — Cambodia has marked a significant step forward in its trade partnership with Australia as Kirirom Food Production (KFP) Co., Ltd , a local agro-processing company, successfully exported its first shipment of 20 metric tonnes of natural dried mangoes to Australia.
The milestone, achieved with the support of the Cambodia–Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) program, highlights the growing collaboration between the two nations in promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Through CAPRED’s assistance, KFP enhanced its export readiness and built strong business linkages with partners in Australia and other international markets. The initiative is part of Australia’s broader effort to strengthen Cambodia’s agricultural value chains and expand market access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
During a recent visit to KFP’s operations, representatives noted how agro-processing plays a vital role in boosting Cambodia’s rural economy. “Our efforts to expand market access for SMEs do more than create jobs—they improve lives,” one CAPRED representative remarked. “Farmers shared that working with KFP gives them a guaranteed market at fair prices. This confidence allows them to invest in quality and deliver on time.”

In addition to dried mango exports, KFP recently expanded its mango puree production line, allowing the company to purchase all grades of mango. This innovation helps reduce waste, increase farmers’ income, and minimize environmental impact—a triple win for people, profit, and the planet.
The success of KFP’s export marks a tangible result of ongoing collaboration between Cambodia and Australia to foster economic resilience and opportunity. As both nations continue to invest in sustainable trade initiatives, such partnerships are expected to open new doors for Cambodian farmers and strengthen bilateral economic ties.
“Stories like these inspire us and reaffirm why our work matters,” the CAPRED team stated. “Together, we’re building stronger value chains and creating opportunities for Cambodian farmers.”
