Phnom Penh — Saudi investors are expected to visit Cambodia in 2026 to explore potential investment opportunities, according to the outgoing Saudi Ambassador to Cambodia.
Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, made the announcement during a farewell courtesy call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, at the Senate Palace on Tuesday.
Senate spokesperson Chea Thyrith said Ambassador Dahlwy noted that the planned visit would be organized through the Saudi Chambers of Commerce, with investors traveling to Cambodia to assess areas of cooperation and investment across various sectors.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the news and expressed appreciation for Ambassador Dahlwy’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations during his tenure. He highlighted the ambassador’s role in facilitating Hun Sen’s previous official visit to Saudi Arabia, describing it as a clear sign of the deepening ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Dahlwy, in turn, thanked Hun Sen for the meeting and said he had developed a strong affection for Cambodia and its people. He praised Cambodia’s steady development across multiple sectors and expressed hope that the country would emerge as one of the most developed nations within ASEAN in the future.
He reaffirmed that the Saudi Chambers of Commerce plans to lead an investment delegation to Cambodia next year. Hun Sen emphasized that expanded trade and investment cooperation would be central to future Cambodia–Saudi Arabia relations and underscored the importance of continued exchanges and stronger people-to-people ties between the two nations.
