Kratie, July 2026 — Kratie Province is emerging as a new investment destination under the Royal Government of Cambodia's special investment promotion program for the four northeastern provinces, with proposed investments reaching approximately US$1 billion across 17 projects.
According to provincial authorities, 17 companies have submitted investment proposals covering a combined area of 40,812 hectares under the government's 2025–2028 incentive program, which aims to accelerate economic development and attract investment to the northeastern region.
To support the implementation of the initiative, officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), led by Undersecretary of State Pich Sambath, together with the Kratie Provincial Administration, led by Deputy Governor Tuy Bunsereyratnamony, recently conducted site inspections and held discussions with investors seeking special incentives, concessions and streamlined administrative procedures.
Among the projects reviewed was Splendid Fortune Product Co., Ltd., a cashew processing company established in 2025. Located in O'Krieng Village, O'Krieng Commune, O'Krieng Sen Chey District, the company operates on a 70-hectare site and is expected to contribute to increasing domestic value addition in Cambodia's growing cashew industry.
Officials also visited Cambodia Banana Co., Ltd., an agricultural enterprise established in 2020 that operates a 2,500-hectare banana plantation in Srae Sbouv Village, Kbal Damrei Commune, O'Krieng Sen Chey District.
The inspection aimed to assess the progress of the projects and evaluate requests for investment incentives under the Royal Government's special program, which offers targeted support to encourage private-sector investment in Cambodia's northeastern provinces.
The initiative is expected to promote agro-industrial development, create employment opportunities and strengthen regional economic growth by attracting new domestic and foreign investment into high-potential sectors, including agricultural processing and commercial farming.
For Cambodia's cashew industry, the expansion of processing facilities such as Splendid Fortune Product Co., Ltd. is viewed as an important step toward increasing local processing capacity, generating greater value from raw cashew production and reducing reliance on raw exports.
