PHNOM PENH, October 21, 2025 — His Excellency Vongsey Visoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Kampong Thom Province, met with Mr. Chen Hai Hua, Director of Overseas Business Management at New Hope Liuhe Co. Ltd, to discuss potential investments in Cambodia’s animal feed production sector.
The meeting, held on the morning of October 21, focused on attracting new investment to Kampong Thom province to strengthen its role in the national food production chain. Deputy Prime Minister Vongsey emphasized that developing the animal feed industry is a strategic priority, aimed at improving food productivity and quality while creating employment opportunities for local citizens and boosting the province’s economic growth.
New Hope Liuhe Co. Ltd, one of China’s largest producers of animal feed and food products such as meat, eggs, and milk, expressed keen interest in expanding its operations to Cambodia. The company currently operates around 600 facilities across 34 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, producing approximately 28.48 million tons of animal feed annually.
Globally, New Hope Liuhe employs about 100,000 people, 94% of whom are local workers who receive hands-on training in production techniques and modern feed technology. The company’s entry into Cambodia marks a significant step toward strengthening the country’s agribusiness sector.
As part of its initial investment plan, New Hope Liuhe aims to produce up to 10 million tons of animal feed per year in Cambodia. The company intends to expand its investment over time, generating more jobs for local communities and contributing to the growth of animal husbandry and food production industries in Kampong Thom province.
Cashew nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) noted that this collaboration represents a key milestone in advancing Cambodia’s agricultural modernization efforts and attracting high-value foreign investment to rural provinces.
