PARIS, France, Oct. 19, 2026 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) is strengthening its international market connections through business meetings with French companies and Cambodian-French businesspeople during the SIAL Paris exhibition, opening new opportunities for Cambodian cashew exports.
Although CAC did not operate an exhibition booth at SIAL Paris, CAC conducted business meetings, visited retail shops serving Cambodian communities in Paris’s suburbs, and explored potential partnerships with European buyers.
A key development was a meeting with Daco Bello, one of France’s major dried-fruit and nut companies, which expressed interest in Cambodian cashew nuts and plans to visit Cambodia during the second week of November 2026. The planned visit will include factory inspections, reviews of certification requirements and price negotiations.
CAC also facilitated the introduction of product samples and promotional leaflets from two CAC members to potential buyers. Following these introductions, a French company and a wholesaler have reportedly begun contacting the two Cambodian businesses, creating potential opportunities for commercial cooperation.
Representing approximately 20,000 farmers, 45 agricultural cooperatives and 25 domestic processors, CAC is working to strengthen its role as a sustainable, service-oriented industry association supporting a more resilient, inclusive and competitive cashew sector.
CAC aims to expand business-to-business connections, improve members’ access to international markets and provide market intelligence to help Cambodian companies meet buyer requirements.
Cambodia’s M23 cashew variety, known for its distinctive taste and large kernel size, is among the products CAC seeks to promote internationally.
Silot Uon, president of CAC, said lessons and partnerships gained through international engagement will help improve quality, traceability, drying and storage facilities, and domestic processing capacity, enabling Cambodia to retain more value from its cashew production.
