Kampong Thom, February 12 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) has held talks with UAE-based GREENWICH AFRI GENERAL TRADING FZ-LLC as part of efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expand market opportunities for Cambodian raw cashew nuts (RCN).
GREENWICH AFRI GENERAL TRADING FZ-LLC is seeking a trustworthy and experienced collector to source high-quality RCN from reputable suppliers in Cambodia. The company emphasized the importance of working with partners who have a proven track record in the industry and can ensure that cashew nuts meet strict quality standards. The selected collector will also be responsible for organizing transportation logistics to ship the raw cashew nuts to India for processing.
The UAE firm expressed its commitment to collaborating with partners who prioritize quality, reliability, and timely delivery, underscoring growing global demand for premium-grade cashew products.
In response, CAC has reached out to several trusted collectors with established direct links to agricultural cooperatives across the country. The move is aimed at ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of high-quality raw cashew nuts.
To further strengthen these partnerships, CAC has invited selected collectors to visit cashew farms in Kampong Thom province, one of Cambodia’s key cashew-growing regions. The visit will provide collectors with firsthand insight into local farming practices, crop quality, and the dedication of Cambodian farmers. Association leaders believe such engagement will enhance transparency, build trust, and reinforce supply chain integrity.
In the past two years, CAC has also met with 16 Indian companies interested in purchasing large volumes of Cambodian RCN for processing in states such as Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The growing interest from Indian buyers highlights Cambodia’s rising profile as one of the world’s leading cashew-producing countries.
During a business meeting, CAC Chairman Silot Uon acknowledged that Cambodian raw cashew nuts are often priced slightly higher than those of competitors. However, he noted that buyers are increasingly focused on quality rather than price.
“Buyers are not concerned about paying a bit more,” Silot Uon said. “They want premium nuts for premium markets.”
Industry observers say the expanding international partnerships reflect strong confidence in Cambodia’s cashew sector and its potential to supply high-quality products to global markets.
